Organizing for the Fight Ahead: Get Involved with the Toronto District CPAC

District 12

In a moment when public education is under attack by this province and with bargaining around the corner, strengthening our ability to organize and mobilize members across worksites is essential to building the power and unity we need to mount a real fight.

To meet this challenge, we are calling on members across every school and worksite to join our District’s Communications and Political Action Committee (CPAC).

What is CPAC? CPAC consists of members from across the Toronto Teachers’ Bargaining unit (TTBU), the Occasional Teachers’ Bargaining Unit (OTBU), and the Professional Student Services Personnel (PSSP) who help advise on and carry out political action and communication strategies for our district.

Being part of CPAC means connecting directly with this work—staying informed, helping shape strategy, and supporting the organization and mobilization around key issues facing our members.

Participation can take many forms: serving as a point of contact at your worksite and sharing information, helping organize colleagues around bargaining and political action, attending monthly meetings, or simply staying informed. Whatever your capacity, we encourage you to sign up.

Our goal is to have a strong, active presence in every building. While attendance at meetings is welcome, the priority is building a broad network of members who can help drive our collective organizing efforts on the ground.
