Open Letter – TDSB Staff Cuts

Dear OTBU Member,

Late in the day on Tuesday, May 11, 2026, the TDSB made a system announcement regarding the elimination of over 300 central positions. Though it will have an impact on Members in several bargaining units, we were not made aware of this announcement before its release.

This morning, bargaining unit presidents sent a letter (below) to Director Zucker and Supervisor Gupta. The letter is available and may be shared.

Your OTBU Executive will continue to seek further information about the elimination of these positions and will continue to advocate on behalf of our Members and students in the TDSB.
